One moment,
a sliver of time captured on film,
a surgical exposure of soul,
unbeknownst to the model.
Sitting there, joining in,
her heart and mind miles away,
she dreams of the unfamiliar,
the exciting,
the exotic,
she craves to be anywhere but there.
The ocean torments her and entices her,
it flows freely – as it should,
easing over its hard confines,
moving with grace and purpose.
She responds to its calling,
releasing her soul to it,
lets it be carried away from the vessel of her body,
she sets it free – lets is slide across the water,
wondering if she has let go of it altogether.
Her body has forsaken her,
no longer able to secure her spirit.
What shall become of her?
